OVERVIEW

Objectives

After the lesson, students are able to:

+ Ask and answer questions about what someone would like to eat or drink.

+ Develop listening and speaking skill.

Language focus

Vocabulary: - a bowl of noodles, a carton of apple juice,  a glass of water, a packet of biscuits, a bar of chocolate

Sentence Patterns: What would you like to eat/drink? – I’d like…, please.

Pictures, Puppets, Sts’ book.

I. Warm-up: 3’

- Let Ss play the game: Slap the board to check vocabulary.

Play the game.

II. New lesson  * Vocabulary:

- Follow the steps of presenting new words.

-Follow T’s instructions.

- Read first

- Ask sts to repeat some times.

- Check the stress words and pronunciation.

- Call some sts to read in front of the class.

- Correct and feedback

- a bowl of noodles

- a glass of water

- a packet of biscuits

- a bar of chocolate

* Look, listen and repeat : 10’

- Show the pictures and introduces the story by poiting at each c-haracter and elicit pupils’ answers to these questions.

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books

- Play it again for them to repeat line by line, pointing to the c-haracters speaking.

- Ask sts to get into pairs to read the dialogues.

- Call some pairs to read the dialogue in front of the class.

- Check their comprehension by asking bsome questions* What would you like to eat?

- Give out the pattern

- Have sts copy the pattern.

- Guide sts to practise further by asking and answering questions .

- Give feedbacks and corrects
